I got a message from one of our Etsy customers, Spongetta, today. She created this awesome purse from one of the fabrics that she had purchased from us. It is a rayon blend with brown, velvety chenille accents. Doesn't it look great with that bamboo handle? Make sure to visit her Etsy site, she makes great purses and she has great prices!
Thank you Betsy for sharing with us! We always LOVE seeing what our customers are up to. Really, we get so excited to see something from our little shop turned into something fantastic - like this purse! If you would like to share something with us that you created using supplies from us join our Flickr group - you'll make our day!
As for other updates.... I am working on a quilt using Moda's new Simplicity line of fabric. Gorgeous! Mom is working on an adorable (let me repeat that, Adorable!) little, yellow, Easter dress with a coordinating linen jacket! I'll share pictures soon! And.......we've been busy! Thank you so much to all of our return and new customers that have stopped by in the last 2 weeks and/or visited our Etsy site!

That's a lot of greats!
I just learned that my Great-Great-Great-Great-Great Grandfather, John McMullan, was a tailor and he cut out and made the first military suit worn by George Washington after he was made Commander-in-Chief of the Army. The tailor's chest, made of cypress, which John McMullan brought from Ireland was passed down through the family and from what I can understand is still in the family somewhere in Mississippi. How cool is that?

And They Felted Away
Carin taught a Nuno Felting Scarf Class on Sunday. Everyone's scarves turned out lovely!
I still haven't tried doing this! I really need to find some time. I absolutely love this brown and pink one!

Socks & Mod Podge
Ooooo... we knitted socks last night! I already feel the addiction setting in. It amazed me to watch the shape of the heel form right off the needles. The double pointed needles in the round and the 3 dimensions that they create still hurts my brain, but it was getting easier towards the end. Hopefully I'll actually have a pair of socks to share soon! I finished my green, cabled hat but I have temporarily misplaced it. Can you believe that? I put all that time into it and I misplace in the first week of wearing it!? Ugh. I hope I find it soon. Oh, the sock book - This Book is fantastic! If you're going to knit socks, you want this by your side.
Mom has been decoupaging again. The Mod Podge is out and our color cartridge is being taken full advantage of. Don't worry, those aren't the original vintage pattern covers - they're copies. These (now adorable) boxes are going to be the new home for our vintage patterns. If you're local, you'll have to come and check them out. The boxes alone are inspiring!

A Whirlwind Weekend
Man, did we have a busy weekend! Thursday evening Rita arrived, Friday and Saturday - we had so many customers is was a whirlwind! (Ya!), Sunday we went to the Folsom Quilt Show & saw our friend Collette Fenske, who's booth was so bright and happy (I wish I had a picture)! And Rita's booth was beautiful! So.... elegant is a good word for it. And inspiring! Everything she designs is fantastic! And then, on Monday (today) Rita taught her Chelsea's Pin Cushion (below) and we had a wonderful day of idea sharing.
Mom and Rita (below) with the Nettie Needles that mom made a few weeks ago.
And, I got to try on Rita's No-hem, Reversible Apron and I have to make one! I am so excited, I think I'll start tomorrow!

Wow.
Psychedelic Terry Cloth! Wow! Would you like to make towels and hang them in your bathroom? Isn't your bathroom Gold and Orange? Or how about Lion Themed? He he he... We just had a great girl buy some Neon Pink and Green Flowered Terry Cloth for a beach bag! How much fun is that!! I love this stuff but I can never think of the right project - I'm glad someone else thought of one.
