This was really a lot of fun. Bethany made a beautiful felted clutch purse and we had so many new customers call and stop by because they saw us on TV! Doesn't get much better than that! Thank you so much Bethany & Fox40!

And the stockings were hung by the chimney with care.
These vintage 1930's socks were brought to us a while ago and we were all SO excited to finally be able to put loops on them and add them to our Christmas items in the shop!! Wouldn't they look fantastic hanging on a hearth?
In other news, the craft fair has been a lot of fun. If you have time tomorrow to stop by the sheds I highly recommend it - it's a WONDERFUL group of vendors with SO many lovely things available for Christmas gifts.
Also, just a reminder that our Home Ec/Home for the Holidays series starts this coming Wednesday from 6:00-9:00 and we'll be starting with a cheery pennant garland perfect for holiday decorating!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Dear friends of mine had twin baby girls the night before - SO much to be thankful for!

I'm not sure I can let mom sell this one.......
I was already romancing this fabric. I even made a blouse out of it with the GREAT 1930's pattern for Christmas last year and THEN she goes and makes this ADORABLE apron! With red dingle-balls even!!!! I think it needs to come home with me tonight and I need to wear it at my Holiday Party tomorrow night. What do you think??

What I did today.
Mom and Linda convinced me to leave my desk work today and join the sock animal class. I thoroughly enjoyed it! This is the monkey that I made for my nephew, Connor, for Christmas. He's a Curious George fan so I'm hoping they can be buds. We had so much fun with the class that we made sure to schedule one more session before Christmas. So the next date is Saturday, December 12th from 1:00-5:30 and you have time to finish one animal in class. You have the option between a monkey, cat or dog and Linda is working on an elephant that may be ready in time for class. Hope to see you there!

Taking Shape
Things down at the packing shed are starting to look like something.
This is my office. Mom, Dad, Steve and Scott keep calling it "Emma's Box". I'm not too partial to that name, but I'm happy to have something that I can make phone calls in! It won't look so much like a box once it has it's door and window and mom's going to hang all of our button holders off of it!

All Framed In
This is going to be the classroom space. It doesn't look very large in the photo, but it's going to be perfect, we promise!

Felted Wedding Bouquets
Beverly, our knitting coach here at the shop, asked Mom and Carin to felt Calla Lillies and Cherry Blossom Branches for her daughter's wedding. We were all SO thrilled with how they turned out!

We're going to have a new home!
It's official. The lease is signed, construction started today and we announced it on Fox40 this morning. So, I guess we're moving our Little Thimble That Could to The Packing Shed at High Hand Nursery in Loomis.
This is going to be our little corner of the packing shed. I really shouldn't say "little" - it's twice the size of the shop we're in now! Isn't that exciting? 1600 square feet of creative goodness!
Mom is going to have a studio there in the corner and I'll have a little office over where the ladders are and THEN to the right of the ladders, in the other corner that you can't really see we're going to have PERMANENT CLASS SPACE!! YAY!!! It'll have 3 BIG tables and OUTLETS for sewing machines! We are SO excited to be expanding our class schedule and being able to provide more sewing classes.
We will be keeping everyone updated on the construction and make sure to mark your calendar for the grand opening! We'll be celebrating with a good old fashioned Halloween Party on Saturday, October 31st!
Talk to you soon!

Decoupage and a new Shop
Mom has been flying through the Modge Podge to breath new life into some great old dress forms that we've had around the shop now for awhile. This is the "Before" picture and I'll have to share the "After" picture tomorrow.
I am also excited to announce that I FINALLY finished the Etsy Shop for Thistle & Foxglove. Here it is. I still have a few more of the kits to upload and then after that I have to put together "Pattern's Only" (no kit) and I'll upload those. I'll also be slowly adding mom's wet felted wall hangings and vessels. Enjoy!

Happy Polyester & What a Wonderful Opening Night!
Pictures from the sidewalk sale that we set up this morning! Doesn't it look cute? Never thought I'd feel that way about a sidewalk sale, but..... I do! :-)
It feels so good to be clearing out our storage space a bit. Now we can purchase more stuff! He he he....
Never thought that pounds of polyester could look pretty.... but doesn't that look fantastic!? It's so bright and happy.
Chris and I sat with the audience for opening night last night AND. It. WAS. FANTASTIC!! You have to come and see the show!
