Funny Little Story

So, Chris and were in Barnes and Noble the other night. It was Sunday night and every other store was closed, so we ended up in our usual spot in B&N - Chris in the magazine section reading MacWorld or some other geekery mag and me in the craft/art section making sure I'm up to date on what's going on the craft world.

I'm flipping through knitting books, sewing books, felting books (I was so excited to find some felting books!) and then..... I find this book:

and I think, "What an adorable book! I want this." And as I'm flipping through the pages I see this photo:


and I think, "How strange. I sold that EXACT vintage terry cloth to a girl months ago. Now I HAVE to have this book." So I buy the book, we go home and I crawl in bed with my wonderful new book. The strangeness of the terry cloth is still pulling at me so I flip to the back to read the author's bio and I realize it IS THE GIRL that bought our terry cloth! Then I think, I wonder if she has a resource section..... and I flip to this page:


Do you see us!?!!?! There we are!!! I squealed and ran to show Chris. And then I thought, "Oh my God! I have to get more vintage fabric in the shop! I haven't added any in MONTHS!" :--)

So, I highly recommend the book, not just because our name is it, but that is a bonus, don't 'cha think? It's written by Jenny Ryan who you can find here and here and she has some great photos on Flickr.

Also, while I was at Barnes and Noble, I ran across the book that KatieJean has some projects in, "Pillowcase Challenge"! Which I thought was strange, because she hadn't said anything about it being on the shelf yet. But then when I told her that I saw it on the shelf, she said, "You did?" I guess the book was released about a month earlier than everyone expected! So, check that one out too - it has some wonderful projects in it!
